I don't know. To me it all just seems to be yet another way to do things we have already been doing. Still really nothing groundbreaking added to EVE since PI and Incursions. Really.

Oh indeed it does. There's no arguing with any of that. What bothers me is that they seem to accumulate about 5 of these in different mechanical areas of the game, throw in a new ship or 2 (if), and call it an Expansion.

Every other game I've played always had radical stuff to add when calling it an expansion. Even Civ 5. It's first expansion introduced 2 now amazingly important things; the Religion and Espionage mechanics. And the 2nd expansion just added International Trade Routes, another aspect that like the other 2 are vital and integral to even winning the game. None of this "Ok, here's a new but faster and more expensive way to do something you've always done."

I think the ranges for the cyno gizmos and tractor doodads were well thought out. You won't be able to jam 100k around stations with one, but you can achieve blanket coverage around a station at great collective range with a few that are well placed with some teamwork. The same with tractors doodads. Depending on cost, cyno gizmos might be fun to drop just to give people something to shoot at for a bit while you go off and do something else in their space, like I don't know, place some syphon widgets.

Star Trek Unaired Pilot Intro 2nd Version And Format

The original print from Star Trek's 2nd pilot which was never aired in this format. This has a different opening narration and credits. The format has Acts 1 thru 4 like an old Quinn Martin production (Streets Of San Fransisco) with scenes cut from the aired pilot version which contained different credits and music. The original soundtrack for this version was removed to be used for an episode called 'The Cage', however most of the original footage from 'The Cage' was later incorporated into the first season two-part episode called 'The Menagerie'.

The original 16mm print of this is now stored in the Smithsonian Institution.

I'm still rocking an old AMD 1090T six core CPU with 16gb of memory. Although I am getting sick of the crazy ammount of heat it pumps out. It's core and overall temp sensors also don't work anymore.

Atleast I'm still rather happy with its performance.

That video card overheating thread just reminded me something that happend to me a few years ago. Sorry for my horrible writing skills in advance


I had to go to town to go do something and decided to leave my computer on because I was downloading some large games and wanted them to be finished when I came back home. When I got back I went to go back on the computer but realized it was not on which was strange. I knew I was downloading some stuff and knew the computer should not have shut down except for a power outage.

I was pretty nervous at the point. Pressed the power button, the computer turned on normally. About 10-15 seconds later the computer powered off and I thought to myself WTF.... Pressed the power button again same thing happened, I was starting get very worried at this point. Pressed the button for a third time and the computer stayed on for about 2 seconds and then shut off.

By this point I knew something was drastically wrong. I frantically checked all cables and fittings on the outside of the computer. All was fine, I knew that was not the problem. Then I opened the case up to see if anything was wrong inside the computer. I unscrewed the screws for the door and put them aside and lifted the door off the case and sat it aside as well.

My jaw dropped by what I saw inside. The CPU heat sink had fallen off and was on the bottom of the case with a shattered fan blade bits all over the place. The CPU was halfway dislodged from its socket with thermal grease spread all over the place. I figured out the CPU heatsink retention clip had broke and the heatsink then fell off the socket causing the CPU to overheat and shutdown to save itself.

After I saw what had a happend I was slightly relieved, I was pretty sure there was no damage to computer apart from heatsink. I cleaned the case up and checked for bent CPU pins (thank god there was none). I ordered up a heatsink that I could bolt down instead of the AMDs clip style which broke. Two days later I bolted the new heatsink on. I powered the computer up and to my relief it booted and loaded windows just fine. The computer still runs fine to this day and now I only use bolt on heatsink retention devices.

Mostly RL things taking my time lately. I'm not a PvP person so most of my time is spent either doing PI, indy, station trading, or missions when I have the time to devote to it.

Actually, that should be better read as "I spend what little time I can devote to playing by jumping through what seems and endless amount of stargates". If I wanted to jump through hoops for hours, I'd just go to work.. It just doesn't seem much fun anymore.

In the past I've been forced into not having access to this game as well. However, it wasn't due to not being able to pay for the sub, it was due to not being able to pay the ISP. Out of my +5 years in this game, I've got about 9 months total of being off line with 4 months being the longest period of time.

Talk about going through withdrawals. I'd feel for you but I just can't reach you. At least do a PLEX for the rest of this month. Don't wanna miss out on collecting all the free gifts, right?
